Kat, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT, is a certified yoga therapist with over 24 years of teaching experience. Her great JOY is inviting her students to explore living more fully in their bodies and their lives; encouraging empowerment and connection to their innate wisdom. Kat provides a safe compassionate environment, a strong foundation and a healing touch. She is deeply committed to a mindful, dynamic, multidimensional approach to yoga integrating body, mind, emotion and spirit as well as guiding students to embrace themselves fully.
Kat has been practicing Hatha yoga since 1992, teaching since July 1999. She was first inspired to teach by Ana Forrest, who imparted the fundamentals of Forrest Yoga - encouraging integrity, strength, embodiment of spirit and a healing process. Kat has completed trainings with Ana Forrest, Donna Farhi - developmental movement patterns, Judith Lasater - Restorative yoga, Cheri Clampett - Therapeutic yoga, Bob Cooley - RFST & Biomechanics, Michelle C. Johnson - Social Justice and Jivana Heyman - Accessible yoga to name a few. Currently she conducts Therapeutic Yoga classes at the Santa Barbara Yoga Center, Ridley Tree Cancer Center with Sansum Clinic and privately.
